The UP Anime Manga Enthusiasts (UP AME) is the first ever recognized collegiate anime organization in the Philippines. They are also the same group behind previous successful events such as the Una kAME!, kAME Ulit!, AME Matsuri, AME Gakuensai and AME 8th Avenue.

Preorders have opened for GSC’s dynamic 1/8 scale PVC figure of Akiha Shishidou from the new sci-fi anime, Sora Kake Girl/Sora o Kakeru Shoujo (The Girl who Leapt Through Space). Coming from the director of My-Hime and My-Otome, SoraKake’s definitely one of the most enjoyable shows this season with generous amounts of action, mecha, comedy and fanservice.

There’s a lot of appealing designs in SoraKake, and seeing that GSC’s one of the main sponsors I bet we’ll be seeing more figures of the show’s characters from them. I hope they’ll make one of Akiha in her plugsuit soon!

GSC’s Akiha Shishidou PVC will come out on July 2009 for 6,800 Yen.

Imo-chan from the Nendroid Imouko Shishidou Maidroid Ver. set will also be in scale with her.

One of virtual idol Miku Hatsune’s most recent and catchiest songs is “Dear”, composed by 19’s Sound Factory. It’s a really beautiful song, but once I understood the lyrics I couldn’t help but tear up. ;_;

I’d also like to dedicate this song (and post) to my friend Edison Lee and his wife Charade who passed away in a tragic car accident last November 11, 2008, barely a month after they got married. Edison (or Yoncha to most of us from OtaKai) was one of the best figure photographers I’ve known, and was also a good friend to all of us in the community. Due to frequent power interruptions caused by the monsoon, my hard drive crashed last Monday, and I lost about 230gb worth of stuff.

Surprisingly I don’t feel as devastated as I thought I would be after the crash… though maybe it just hasn’t sunk in yet, or something.

Oh well, a fresh start is good too. I guess.

So uh… that pretty much explains the lack of updates and me missing out on Moe Monday for this week. I’ll make up for it next time. Sorry folks. (；´Д`)
