Due to frequent power interruptions caused by the monsoon, my hard drive crashed last Monday, and I lost about 230gb worth of stuff.

Surprisingly I don’t feel as devastated as I thought I would be after the crash… though maybe it just hasn’t sunk in yet, or something.

Oh well, a fresh start is good too. I guess.

So uh… that pretty much explains the lack of updates and me missing out on Moe Monday for this week. I’ll make up for it next time. Sorry folks. (；´Д`)

Time for a special edition of Moe Monday! Today (July 7) just happens to be the birthday of probably the most moe twins ever: Kagami and Tsukasa Hiiragi from Lucky☆Star! As expected, the next figma to be opened for preorder is Tsukasa’s onee-san, Kagami Hiiragi! Of all Lucky☆Star characters she just has to be my favorite, it’s hard to resist those twintails and her tsundere attitude! The figure comes with alternate facial expressions and a Lucky Star tankōbon accessory. She’ll be available on September 2008 and will retail for 2,500 Yen.

We had the OtaKai Figure Society gathering all weekend long and it was epic fun! The OtaKai Figure Society is a community for Japanese figure and otaku culture enthusiasts, and we got a bunch of new members from the recent conventions so we decided to have a gathering to meet up with them! It was great seeing the new members and some members who I haven’t met yet personally. As usual we hung out at Greenhills and raided the hobby stores which was epic lulz, there’s nothing funnier than seeing store people taken aback when a huge group of collectors come in!

It was also great hanging out with the usual people, especially LC who we haven’t seen in a while due to his work overseas. I also won some prizes from our raffle: a volume of Comic Gum and uh… a magazine from Thailand (which I gave away to someone else ^^;).

When I opened up the figma Haruhi, I noticed that she had paint rub on her lower left leg which was kinda disappointing. Considering Max Factory’s QC track record, I guess I just got unlucky. ^_^; It’s still a great figure though, she’s really fun to pose around! I can’t wait to get the other members of the SOS-dan!

Moetastic! Amiami opened up preorders for the upcoming Max Factory figma Tsukasa Hiiragi action figure! A lot of people have been anticipating the figma incarnations of characters from Lucky☆Star, and klutzy Tsukasa is the second one to be announced! And based on the magazine scans a few days ago her twin Kagami will be following suit, probably by September. Tsukasa will retail for 2,500 Yen and will be on shelves by August 2008. I’ll surely be getting them all. XD

Hooray, it’s time for another Moe Monday! I guess a lot of you saw this coming… today’s Moe Monday will feature the work of another female artist! And today it’s Aoi Nishimata! She and previously featured artist Hiro Suzuhira have known each other for a long time and have collaborated on a lot of doujins and works including character designs for Shuffle!, on which she did one of the most moe characters ever: Primula! Earlier today, Alter updated their official site with the preorder details of their upcoming Hayate Yagami PVC figure from the anime series Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS!

She comes in at 1/7 scale and comes with a lot of option parts, including the floating tome gimmick seen in the non-scale Reinforce Zwei released a few months back, Unison mode parts and an impressive, in-scale Reinforce Zwei! And it’s no surprise that she’ll retail at a whopping 10,290 Yen! Yeowch! Hayate will hit the shelves on October 2008.

Hayate will be the third figure Alter will be releasing based on the StrikerS series, and hopefully the other characters will follow suit… especially Signum!

Amiami has put up a preorder page for her as well, check it out for the nifty preview images! I’ll really be looking forward to this! I don’t think she’s gonna fit on the same shelf that my Alter Fate is in though. ^^;

The NEET goddess finally gets a figure! \o/

Jun Planning posted details regarding their 1/8 scale Nagi Sanzenin PVC on their official site yesterday, which will be their third figure based on the hit comedy manga/anime Hayate no Gotoku!. Nagi is posed in her NEET best, controller in hand and doing a ‘V’ sign. She’s slated for an August 2008 release, and will retail for 4, 179 Yen.

Now that Nagi, Maria and Hinagiku have been turned to PVC, I wonder who’ll be next? I have a gut feeling that it won’t be Hayate himself though… poor guy.
